The growing list of Anime Vanguards exclusive and secret units are often the cream of the crop. But obtaining them can be difficult if you don’t know where to start.
While it’s entirely possible to run through the game’s hardest content with its copious Mythic and Legendary characters, Exclusive and Secret units continue to crush it. They’re great long-term investments you can get your hands on them. And we can help—though please note that some of the methods are unconfirmed. UPD 1 is fresh out of the gate, after all.
How to get Exclusive and Secret units in Anime Vanguards
Though the main banners cap out with the Mythic rarity units at around 0.5%, there is a higher tier of rarity available in the Anime Vanguards.
Immensely powerful units like Igros, Alucard, Julias, and Rengoku occupy this space. How you get each one varies quite a bit.
Here’s a rundown on how to unlock each Exclusive or Secret unit in Anime Vanguards:
How to get Igros
you can get your own Igros by grinding Act 3: Double Dungeon Disaster. It’s a 0.75% drop chance, so it may take a little while.
He’s one of the very first Secret units added to the game. So long as you don’t waste days of your life trying to get him, Igros is still worth putting on your team.
How to get Alocard
Alocard, another one of the older Secret units in Anime Vanguards, is an incredibly rare drop from the banner. You won’t see him on the index or drop list, but he’s there no matter the rate-up character spotlight.
As you’ll be pulling anyway as you play, getting your own Alocard is down to pure dumb luck. And yes, it can be shiny, but the chance is so low that it’s really not worth thinking about. Grind gems any which way you can if you really need Alocard and don’t mind blowing them all on duplicate units.
How to get Sukuno
— VanguardsNews (@P4ANZER) October 23, 2024Sukuna will be obtainable from evolving Itadori with 20 cursed fingers.

According to a post by VanguardsNews on social media, Sukuno can be obtained by using using 20 Cursed Fingers on Itaduri through the Evolve window. These can be obtained in the Shibuya Infinite stage.
How to get Rengoku
Added in the 0.5 mini update, Rengoku is a powerful Secret unit you can obtain by focusing your efforts on the Demon Slayer raid content.
Clear Act 4: Web Demon and grind it until the 1% drop chance comes up in your favour. If you have excess raid currency you want to spend, grab the Fortune Crystal luck boosts from the raid shop to double that up to a whopping 2%. You never know.
How to get Tuji
Tuji, added in UPD 1 in mid-October, has a very convoluted unlock process. So long as you can follow along (and clear some Legend stages), you should be all set.
To unlock Tuji, you just need to clear up to (and including) Act 2 of Shibuya Station on Legend difficulty after clearing the whole lot on Story.
With that done, you then need to sacrifice a Jujutsu Kaisen unit added in UPD 1 to the Cursed Worm.
Finally, clear Act 2 on Story mode again to see the difference the sacrifice made. After that, you should get your Tuji.
Clear Shibuya Station Act 2 on Legend, sacrifice one UPD 1 unit to the Cursed Worm, then clear Act 2 on Story.
How to get Julias
Julias is unlocked as a reward for clearing the Battle Pass during UPD 1 at level 25.
You get a basic version on the free Battle Pass, but if you pay for the premium pass, you can get a second, evolved one to add to your collection as well.
If trading ever does become a thing, you can pass the lesser one on to a friend (or an alt) to rush through the game.
How to get Mechamar
Mechamar is slated to be a tournament reward. We’ll have more details on that once the Tournament structure makes a little more sense to us.
How to get Mohato
Just like Mechamar, Mohato is set as a tournament reward as per the UPD 1 patch notes. We’ll digest a common way to get your own in time.
How to get Legendary Super Brolzi
Finally, Legendary Super Brolzi, who deviates from the Jujutsu Kaisen theme of UPD 1, is described by the patch notes as a Leaderboard reward.
We’ll add more details here as we get them, but it’s enough to suggest you’ll need to be well into your meta runs to reach high enough on the leaderboard to unlock this presumably immensely powerful unit.
