Teacher of Geography
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Geography to join our highly motivated and experienced team on a full-time basis from January 2025. Reporting to the Head of Geography, the successful candidate will be able to teach across the Senior School including IGCSE and IB Geography.
With two campuses - a Junior School in the heart of Rome and a Junior and Senior School based in La Storta in the city’s northern suburbs, the school is seeking exceptional team members who can contribute to the exciting next phase of our development.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
To engage and motivate pupils to strive for the highest performance
To use tracking and monitoring to advance student learning
To keep abreast of new curriculum thinking, teaching methods and examination syllabuses and implement the National Curriculum, IGCSE and IB syllabuses as
appropriate and according to the policies of the Departments, in discussion with the Heads of Department
To maintain and implement school and department policies and adhere to protocols outlined in the departmental handbooks
To be aware of, and comply with, all the School policies including those for marking and assessment, teaching and learning and reporting
To develop and share schemes of work and resources
To contribute to the departments’ improvement/development plans and promote the learning priorities of the school’s Vision, Mission and Values
To promote the wider aspirations and values of the school, the academic Department and the IB Learner Profile
Pastoral
To demonstrate professional curiosity in relation to each pupil’s wellbeing and welfare, and to foster the personal and social development of each pupil in their care
To actively promote the social, moral and cultural ethos of the school community
To create an atmosphere of support by being aware of, and fully compliant with, all of the schoolʼs pastoral policies
To be familiar with all the schoolʼs policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring the safety of all members of the school community at all times
To promote exemplary behaviour and a responsible attitude amongst pupils
To be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children
Professional Responsibilities
To promote pride in the school among the pupil body through high standards of dress, behaviour and commitment
To ensure that all communication is acted upon appropriately and in a timely manner
To attend Parentsʼ Evenings, Assemblies and other school events during term time as required
To assist with covering colleagues as required
To attend all meetings and INSET as required
To maintain an up to date Google Classroom for each class, and to contribute occasional content for the school newsletter, website, social media and other publications
To foster a close partnership with parents, initiating contact in appropriate circumstances and ensuring that there is a record of this
To carry out any reasonable professional request made by the Principal/Head of School

A good UK Honours Degree (or equivalent)
A certified teaching qualification (i.e. Qualified Teacher Status)
